Morrow Tosses One-Hitter in Jessup’s Shutout Doubleheader Sweep

Case Provides Offensive Support in Game One, Four-Run Inning Leads the Way in Game Two

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. –  Having not shutout an opponent all year thus far, the Warriors pieced together two of their best games all season as they took both games of a GSAC doubleheader while not allowing their opponents to cross home once. A dominant showing by Jessup's starting pitchers, along with clutch hitting at the place earned Jessup a road series victory at Westmont College.

GAME ONE

Third baseman Garrett Case was the main offensive contributor in game one of Friday's doubleheader. Case got the scoring started in the top of the second, as he drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. The sophomore would help add an insurance run in the ninth, as he drove in Joseph Howell on an RBI single, putting Jessup ahead by the eventual final of 2-0.

Pitching seven shutout innings on the mound for the Warriors in game one was Tristan Pryblinski. Pryblinski allowed seven hits and just one walk to the 27 batters he faced as he earned his first victory of the season. Calvin Bonilla pitched a perfect eighth inning of relief, while Sam Curtis earned the save with a shutout ninth.

GAME TWO

In game two of Friday's doubleheader, Jessup's pitching again was on top of their game as they held the host Westmont College scoreless. Cameron Morrow tossed a gem in the win, as he faced just one over the minimum in his complete game effort. A first inning double was the only baserunner surrendered by Morrow, while he struck out four over the course of his day.

Offensively, the third inning was where Jessup struck for all four of their runs in the 4-0 victory. Curtis got the scoring started as with the bases loaded and one out he drove in two with a single up the middle. Justin Chase then drove in Rory Petersen for the Warriors third run. The final run came via a two-out single from Joey Torres, driving in Curtis.

Entering Friday, Jessup had yet to hold an opponent scoreless for an entire game this season, making the sweep of Friday's doubleheader the Warriors' first two shutouts of the season. Jessup also improves their win total on the season to eight wins, which is the highest in program history.

The three-game series between Jessup and Westmont commences on Saturday as the two sides hit the diamond at noon. Jessup returns home this next week to play host to Vanguard University on Wednesday and Thursday for a three-game series at McBEan Park in Lincoln
