ROCKLIN, Calif. - After a great win at home on Friday the men's soccer team traveled to Menlo to take on Rocky Mountain College in a neutral site match that didn't end in the Warrior's favor as the Bears took it 6-0.
Holding strong out the gate, the Warriors battled off five shots and five corner kicks before the Bears connected on the fifth strike from the flag to make a connection for the 1-0 lead in the 21st-minute.
The defense held the back line the remainder of the half forcing three offsides in the Warrior's favor, but Rocky Mountain would strike again in the 40th minute to take the 2-0 advantage into the half.Â
Holding steady between the posts for the first leg was senior Robbie Harmelink recording two saves and three blocked shots delivered by the Bears on frame with 14 total shots made. Coming into the second half junior
Nick Garcia defended the net with 4 saves of the 13 shots made by Rocky Mountain.
A pair of early goals in the second half would put the Bears ahead 4-0 before the Warriors struck back with a shot by
Paul Anderson in the 54th-minute going wide right, but
Adolfo Guzman would take a stab moments later on frame, but not able to break through.
The final two goals would be added in the 68th and 72nd minutes as Rocky Mountain extended their lead 6-0 with just over 15-minutes to play.Â
The Warriors battled in those final minutes with five shots sent in, two on goal but saved by the Bear's goalie.
With a 2-2 record, the Warriors will continue their non-conference play at Pacific Union on Thursday before hosting Dominican on Saturday at 1pm.
