Surprise, Ariz. - The Jessup women's soccer team finished their GSAC regular-season road game at new conference foe Ottawa University where an early thunderstorm would delay the game. The Spirit held the 1-0 advantage through the final minutes of the game and added the final goal to secure the 2-0 victory.
It was another quick attack by the Warriors as senior
Yvette Perez put two shots on frame in the first couple minutes following the weather delay but the Spirit would hit the board as a free-kick would be deflected by the Warriors in their own goal for Ottawa's 1-0 advantage.Â
Another shot by the Warriors, this time
Katie Worley would miss high as Jessup continued in the final minutes of the first half to defend the posts. The Spirit got off their first two shots of the half in the final five minutes and goalkeeper
Camille Cavey snagged the saves.
The second half would continue the scoreless action until the 83rd minute, where the second shot of the half was taken and hit high in the goal for the 2-0 lead to ride to the finish.
Jessup will return home for the remainder of the season with a pair of conference matchups, next one against Menlo College Oct. 20th and a non-conference game to finish the regular season.Â
