ROCKLIN, Calif. - With just 13 games under their belt, Jessup baseball tied the programs most wins in a season in their 29-4 victory over Bethesda University to advance to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
The bottom of the first frame set the pace for the Warriors as eight runs crossed led by a
Josh Duitsman who sent a grand slam over the right-field wall to clear the bases and go up 7-0. Also contributing to the 8 run-inning was
Steve Pastora with a single and RBI, and
Kawai Takemura who brought in a run with a double to right.
A single run would cross the plate in the next inning with a double by
Connor Braun to score
Joe Starick followed by a silent third and fourth.
In the bottom of the fifth, Takemura start things off with his second double of the game clearing the bases with 3RBIs and
Will Law launching one to left-center for his fourth home run of the season as the Warriors took 15-0 lead after five.
Another seven runs would be added in the next inning by the Warriors, and seven more to follow in the bottom of the eighth to end the Warriors offensive attack.
Starting right fielder for the Warriors Steven Pastora would lead the offensive threat going 5-for-6 with 4 RBIs. Braun was close behind going 3-for- 5 with 5 RBI's, followed by Takemura (2-3, 4RBI), Law (1-3, 3RBI), Duitmans (2-3, 3RBI).
Jessup will return to McBean Park for their conference home opener against San Diego Christian on Friday with first pitch slated for 2 pm, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 11 am.
