It was a defensive battle early in this one as the Eagles scored the first goal with two minutes remaining in the first half. It didn't take long for the Warriors to respond as De La Paz was able to capitalize on a penalty kick in the first minute of the second half. The junior midfielder's goal is her first of the season.
As the match went on Sierra Nevada would score the go-ahead goal in the fifty-fourth minute. The Warriors were unable to score a goal for the remainder of the contest, despite getting four more shots on goal.
Overall the Warriors outshot the Eagles 11-8 but could only find the net one time. While in goal, sophomore
Camille Cavey was able to register two more saves, bringing her total to four over the last two games.
After the game head coach
Rachel Constantini said, " Today's game was a great reminder that we still have a lot to work on before conference play. We have a lot to take away from this game- things to work on, areas to clean up. Regardless of the outcome, we will continue to build in a positive direction, both mentally and physically."
The Warriors will continue their four-game homestand with a matchup against Multnomah University on Saturday, Sept. 1st at 11 AM.
