FULLERTON, Calif. - Closing out their first conference series, the women's soccer team capped the Southern California road trip at Hope International. The Warriors answered quickly to the Royals early lead, but a trio of goals in the Royals would give them the 4-1 victory.
An early goal in the 4th minute would favor the home team, but Jessup wasn't backing down as a corner kick opportunity delivered by
Alexia De La Paz was connected by
Janelle Schuette to even the score with a header over the keeper, her sixth goal of the season.Â
At the break, the Royals would hold the 2-1 advantage as they also out shot the Warriors 12-to-2, Cavey snagging 5 saves in the opening half.
In the final 45-minutes of play, the Warriors would get a trio of shot off, but the Royals continued to hold the advantage in that column with seven shots, Cavey again collecting four saves this half for 9 on the game, her second-straight game with that many saves.
The Royals would score another pair of goals in the second half to take the win 4-1.
Returning home to host their conference opener next week, Jessup will welcome The Master's University on Thursday and San Diego Christian on Saturday for the Warriors Breast Cancer Awareness game.
