SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Jessup women's tennis team opened up the season at top-ranked GSAC opponent, No. 14 Westmont College on Saturday in sunny Santa Barbara.
The Warriors would lose their opening matchup of the season, and conference, 9-0 with a pair of sets in the Jessup's favor.
To start the day off, the Warrior matchup was in doubles where
McKenzie Hawkins and
Abriana Rowe took on Westmont's one spot, stealing a game but dropping the match 8-1. In two's
Stephanie Alsman and
Melisa Hansen dropped 8-0 and senior's
Yvette Perez and
Allie Rocha competed in threes losing 8-0.
In singles play, Alsman would be the only Jessup Warrior to steal a game from No. 14 three-spot, Taylor Cheung-Damonte.
Jessup will return to their home facility this coming week welcoming Arizona Christian and Ottawa University - AZ.
