Box Score ROSEVILLE, Calif. - The Warrior women's tennis team hosted their conference opener and program home opener against Ottawa University - AZ Friday afternoon. Despite the 9-0 defeat, the Warriors were able to compete with the Spirit, many Warriors clinching their first game wins of the season.
The day started in doubles as
McKenzie Hawkins and
Stephanie Alsman went 2-8 in both games followed by the pair in the second slot,
Abriana Rowe and
Melisa Hansen with the same score, and the final group
Yvette Perez and
Allie Rocha also finishing with 2-8.
Single matchups followed as Hawkins lost both sets to the Spirit's number one, 3-6 followed by Rowe who wasn't able to steal a set from the OUAZ's number two. In the three spot, Alsman went 5-7 in the first game against the Spirit but lost the second set 1-6.
Hansen would also battle in the fourth spot dropping just 5-7 and 2-6. The final two spots would belong to number five Perez (0-6) and number six Rocha (1-6, 3-6).
Jessup will return to courts tomorrow to take on Arizona Christian starting at 12 pm at Life Time Fitness in Roseville.
