SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The Jessup women's tennis team opened up the season taking on the Bay Area talent of Dominic University before they open GSAC competition later this week. The Warriors battled but would end their first match of the season on the losing end to the Penguins, 5-0.

Incoming transfer Aysha Hayes led the Warriors in her singles matchup in the number one position, while also battling it out in the pairs matchup with McKenzie Hawkins. Hayes and Hawkins would take three games from the Penguins' number one duo, but ultimately lost 3-6.

The second doubles group for the Warriors was made up of Ryanda Guerrero and Karen Ramos-Paglino who took down their competition in one game but lost with a final 1-6.

Hayes led the Warriors with a 2-6, 2-6 outing followed by Guerrero in the third singles position (2-6, 1-6). Hawkins would go down in the number two singles 1-6, 1-6 and Ramos-Paglino rounded out the competition with a score of 1-6, 0-6.

The Warriors will head back to the court on Friday as they open conference play against No. 14 Westmont College at 12 pm.
