Box Score ROSEVILLE, Calif. – Jessup Tennis continued their season on Friday as the Warriors opened GSAC play, hosting No. 14 Westmont College. The Warriors were able to take some games in the match but ultimately lost 6-0.
The day started with two doubles matches, as
Aysha Hayes teamed up with McKenzie Hawks to start. The duo fell 6-0. Karen Godinez-Paglino and
Ryanda Guerrero were next up, as they dropped a 6-0 match as well.
Hayes played in the number one position in singles competition as she took a game in her match before suffering a 6-1, 6-0 defeat.
The Warriors' strongest effort came from the second position as
McKenzie Hawkins won four games in her two-set match. Battling Rachel Jackson of Westmont, Jackson took the match 6-1, 6-3. Guerrero and Godinez-Paglino each fell by a 6-0, 6-0 final.
For Jessup, Friday marked the first of a 12 game GSAC schedule that will span from February to mid-April. Jessup will take on six of their GSAC opponents two times, once at home and on the road.
Next on the schedule for the Warriors is a trip down south to take on the San Diego Christian College Hawks. That match is scheduled for next Friday, February 12.
