RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – After two weeks off, the Warriors were back on the field Saturday to take on the Oregon Tech Owls. It didn't take long for the first goal to be scored, and the uphill climb from the start was too much for the Warriors to overcome as they lost 3-1.
 
Three minutes into the game, the Owls controlled possession, and it was Kyra Mull who scored the game's first goal. Jessup's goalie, Emma Whigam, was kept busy as she tallied six saves in the first half keeping the score at 1-0 through the first forty-five minutes.
 
Similar to the first half, the Warriors surrendered a goal quickly. In the forty-seventh minute, Mehana Ortiz of the Owls found the back of the net, giving Oregon Tech a 2-0 lead. This time, Jessup was able to respond with a goal of their own. Vanessa Alonzo got had great positioning and put a shot on frame that found the mark.
 
Unfortunately for the Warriors, the Owls came away with the win as they netted an insurance goal in the seventy-seventh minute, taking a 3-1 lead.
 
The loss puts Jessup's record at 0-2, and the Owls move to 2-0.
 
Next up on the schedule, Jessup will begin Golden State Athletic Conference games as they'll host The Master's University on Monday, February 15.
