ROCKLIN, Calif. - Looking to start the climb back to .500 and five games to go, Jessup welcomed the Ottawa Spirit to Jessup Field. After a first-half equalizer, OUAZ struck for two quick goals, handing Jessup a 3-1 defeat.
 
Head Coach David Nolan was pleased with the effort his team showed Saturday, stating, "We worked hard defensively today and wanted to frustrate them, overall really happy with the team's defensive effort. Just a few errors cost us dearly. Excited to build off this performance."
 
The Spirit got on the board first in Saturday's contest, as Saipress Jones headed in a corner kick from Paige Murray-Hernandez in the 17th minute of play.
 
Pushing for an equalizer, Jessup would find the tying score in the 39th minute. Already leading the Warriors in goals, Madison Leonhardt netted her sixth of the season as she headed the ball in goal off a free kick from Sarah Foulk.
 
In almost identical fashion to Jessup's loss on Thursday, the opponent struck for two goals in rapid fashion to pull ahead by two.
 
The first came in the 61st minute, as Cassidi Calzaretta scored off an assist from Jones. Three minutes later, Calzaretta would record the assist on a goal from Haley Howard.
 
Saturday's finish marks the fourth loss in a row for the Warriors, as they fall to 1-7 overall (0-4 GSAC).
 
With just two home matches remaining on the schedule, the Warriors will welcome The Master's University to Rocklin on Wednesday. The match is scheduled for 10 a.m.
