ROSEVILLE, Calif. - The women's tennis team returned to their home court on Friday for a doubleheader against both Arizona GSAC opponents. The Warriors were initially slated to play ACU only on Friday but moved ahead with their Saturday match against OUAZ due to rain in the forecast.
Match One: Arizona Christian 4, Jessup 0
The Warriors began by facing ACU and played the Firestorm tough, taking some games in doubles and singles play.
Aysha Hayes and
McKenzie Hawkins teamed up to begin doubles matches, falling 6-3.
Ryanda Guerrero and Karen Paglino-Ramos then dropped their doubles match 6-2.
Hayes led off the singles play, dropping her match in two sets, 6-2, 6-1. Multiple matches went unfinished, with Hawkins turning in a strong effort for the Warriors as she won her first set 7-5 and led 2-1 when play was stopped. Guerrero trailed 7-6, 1-0, and Paglino-Ramos dropped her first set 7-5, but held 2-1 advantage in the second set.

Jon Toney commented on his player's efforts saying, "The team is showing strong improvement, resulting in most matches being very close."
Match Two: OUAZ 5, Jessup 0
Jessup faced OUAZ in the back half of their doubleheader. Hayes and Hawkins battled in doubles play, winning their first set 7-6, but fell 6-1 in the second, losing the doubles point.
Singles play began with Hayes dropping her matches 6-3, 6-0, Hawkins and Guerrero fell 6-2, 6-2 respectively, and Paglino-Ramos turned in a solid effort but lost in two sets 7-5, 6-1.
The Warriors will travel to Santa Barbara for a rematch with No. 20 Westmont on Thursday, March 11.
