Box Score 2 FULLERTON, Calif. – Continuing the season, the Warriors hit the road for Southern California this weekend as they took on a duo of GSAC opponents. Losing both matches, the Warriors battled Westmont on Friday before taking on Hope International Saturday afternoon.
In Friday's bout, the Warriors dropped the match to No. 20 ranked Westmont College 5-0. In doubles play, the dup of
Aysha Hayes and
McKenzie Hawkins lost 6-1, while
Ryanda Guerrero and
Karen Ramos-Paglino lost 6-0.
In singles play, Hayes took a game but ultimately fell 6-1, 6-0. Guerrero took two games in her match, losing 6-1, 6-1. Paglino-Ramos fell in her matchup 6-0, 6-1, while Hawkins was unable to take a game from Westmont's Sydney Lowry, 6-0, 6-0.
On Saturday, taking on the Royals of Hope International, Jessup lost the match by a final of 7-0. Hayes and Hawkins improved on their doubles performance from Friday, as they took two games before falling 6-2. Guerrero and Ramos-Paglino too improved, dropping their match 6-3.
In singles competition, Hawkins had the best turnaround performance as she took the second set to the wire before falling 7-5. Each Jessup player took at least two games in their respective matches.
The tennis season continues for Jessup next week as the Warriors will visit Sacramento State on Friday at 2 p.m.
