ROCKLIN, Calif. – On the final day of the Bill Holtz Warrior Classic, Jessup got back to the hardwood, hosting the Bushnell Beacons. It was a day the Warriors will hope to soon forget, as Bushnell ran away with an 80-60 victory on Horton Court.
The Warriors were paced by a career-high 18 points from sophomore guard
Natalie Moulos. Moulos went 7-of-11 from the floor, training two triples in her 26 minutes off the bench.
Maddy Meadows finished behind Moulos with nine points.
Makaila Napoleon and
Andheya Aurelio finished with seven each.
The Beacons drained 11 triples in Saturday morning's affair. Bella Pedrojetti led the way with a trio from beyond the arc. She scored a team-leading 15 points. Kalina Rojas and Aspen Slifka finished in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Bushnell jumped ahead to a 10-0 lead right out of the gates and led 19-8 after one period of play. At halftime, the Warriors found themselves trailing 44-24.
The loss drops Jessup down to 1-3 on the young season.
Jessup will return to the court next week at the Cascade Challenge in Kirkland, WA. The Warriors will take on Northwest University on November 11, followed by a contest with The College of Idaho on November 12.
