ROCKLIN, Calif. – Jessup STUNT was back at home Friday for the first of two straight home games. The Warriors welcomed Cal Poly to the friendly confines of Warrior Arena looking to avenge two losses to the Mustangs from last season. Jessup battled, but Cal Poly pulled together strong second and third quarters for a 13-9 victory.
 
"The girls did amazing today. We've had a couple injuries in the last week so we had to fill new people in new spots, and the girls did amazing stepping up to the plate filling in those spots," said head coach Alexis Welch "They were learning new counts today and going out there and performing those routines."
 
Jessup jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first quarter, putting together a strong performance in partner stunts. Cal Poly answered strongly in the second and third, outsourcing the Warriors 7-2 to take control of the game.
 
Jessup had an impressive fourth quarter on the mat, taking four points in the round. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Cal Poly was a little bit stronger, claiming five points to secure the victory.
 
Jessup will look to split the weekend tomorrow, as it is set to host Saint Mary's at 1:30 PM to wrap up the brief homestand.
 
"We're looking forward to getting some new routines out on the floor. We are preparing to go to Oklahoma next week," said Welch. "We really want to get out there, work on being as clean as possible, sticking our tumbling and executing our basket height."
