OAKLAND, Calif. - The Jessup women's tennis team took the short drive to the Bay Area to take on Mills College this afternoon and come home with their first win of the season in a shutout, 6-0 over the Cyclones.
The win is historic for the program as it goes down as win number one at Jessup for head coach
Chris Tolson. Tolson took over the program this summer.
It was a day filled with firsts as the doubles matches were a clean sweep. The number one doubles,
Nicollet Alexander and
McKenzie Hawkins took the game 6-0 and the number two pair
Danielle Akabane and
Sydney Page followed suit.
Heading into the singles it was yet another 6-0 victory across the board with
Aysha Hayes leading the charge in number one singles, followed by Alexander, Hawkins,
Sydney Page and Akabane.
The Warriors will be back in action tomorrow as they welcome No.23 St. Katherine for GSAC play. It will be the end of busy week, as it will be the third time the Warriors will compete in a four-day stretch.
