Tennis Continues the GSAC Season Against Saint Katherine

Jessup wrap up a week in which they played three matches; Action returns next week in Southern California

ROSEVILLE, Calif. – It's been a busy week for the Warriors as they competed in three matches this week. The stacked schedule this week came to an end on Saturday as the Warriors welcomed Saint Katherine to Lifetime Fitness in Roseville.
 
Saturday was a conference match as the Firebirds of Saint Katherine compete in the Golden State Athletic Conference for men's and women's tennis.
 
Saint Katherine took the women's match 4-0 as not all bouts were able to be completed. The began with doubles play as Aysha Hayes and McKenzie Hawkins lost their match 6-0. Nicollet Alexander teamed up with Danielle Akabane in the second doubles competition. The duo was down 5-0 at the time the match was called.
 
USK took the one point for doubles play.
 
Singles play saw the matches of Hayes, Alexander, and Hawkins all go unfinished. Sydney Page lost her match in the four spot, 0-6, 0-6. Akabane fell 0-6, 1-6.
 
Over to the men's contest, Sam Smith teamed up with Jordan Lenney. The duo lost their match 6-1. In the second contest, Noah Moeckelmann teamed up with two-sport athlete Kadyn Silva. Their match was unfinished.
 
USK again took the point in the men's doubles contest.
 
In singles play, the matches by Smith, Silva, and Moeckelmann all went unfinished. Moeckelmann lost his match 0-6, 0-6. Aidan Sauer competed and lost his match 2-6, 0-6.
 
The Firebirds won the men's contest by the final of 4-0.
 
The Jessup women will be back on the court on March 11 as they take on Southwest Minnesota State in a neutral site meeting in Azuza. The next day both teams will be on the courts against Maymount California University.
