HAYWARD, Calif. – With one final meet on the schedule before members of the Warriors head to Alabama, Jessup competed Sunday at the West Coast Last Chance Meet in Hayward. Hosted by Chabot College, the meet offered one final chance for athletes to punch their ticket to the National Championship.
 
Someone who has already punched their ticket to Alabama, Alexis Jones, competed in the triple jump on Sunday and took first place with a mark of 11.30m. It's a new PR for Jones, besting her previous mark by .20 meters.
 
Michelle Flint was in action in the throwing events. Coming off a week where she was named Athlete of the Meet at the GSAC Championship, Flint took first in the shot put with a mark of 12.75. Flint's teammate, Jessica Pedretti, won the discus with a throw of 41.02m.
 
Both Flint and Pedretti flip-flopped with one another as each took second in the event the other won.
 
In the men's competition, Kamil Jones took first in the 400m, narrowly missing his PR by 0.23 seconds as he finished Sunday with a time of 50.49.
 
Ryan Hanks was also in action in the 5000m, finishing with a time of 16:03.92.
 
A total of seven Warriors have punched a ticket to the NAIA Track & Field National Championship in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The 2022 roster has produced the most national qualifying athletes in Jessup Track & Field history.
 
The 2002 National Championship begins May 25 and runs through May 27 from Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, AL.
