Jovicevic Scores 26 in Jessup Narrow Loss to TMU

Jovicevic led the Warriors in scoring with 26 points; The Warriors will be in Arizona next week to take on OUAZ and Arizona Christian

ROCKLIN, Calif. – Coming off a loss for the first time since mid-November, the Warriors welcomed another team receiving national votes to Rocklin in The Master's University Mustangs. Looking to stake their spot within the GSAC, Jessup came out on the wrong end of a 66-62 defeat.

Leading all players in scoring for the second game in a row was Andrea Jovicevic, dropping 26 points on 10-of-21 from the floor. She paired her scoring efforts with a pair of steals and three boards.

Also contributing to the Warriors was Natalie Moulos and Kayla Vieira, adding eight and seven points, respectively.

Jessup shot 37 percent from the floor in Saturday's loss, compared to a 39 percent shooting performance by TMU. The Warriors saw their best success come in the third quarter when they put up 18 points on a 43 percent shooting performance.

The Mustangs saw their best quarter come in the first when they put up 21 points. Their largest lead of the day came in the early moments when they led by ten with 2:45 in the first.

It was a close game throughout all four quarters Saturday, with the lead routinely sitting within one or two possessions. The Warriors led through three, 49-47, which climbed them out of a five-point hole at halftime. But the shots were not falling in the fourth as Jessup closed 0-for-6 from beyond the arc.

With a chance to tie the game with 15 seconds to go, Jessup looked to Vieira in the corner, but the attempt clanked off front iron.

Saturday's loss drops the Warriors to 9-7 overall on the season, 4-3 within the GSAC.

The Warriors will be on the road next week when they pay a visit to Arizona. Jessup will face OUAZ on Thursday, January 12, from Faith Arena in Surprise. It was in Surprise last season where the Warriors posted 95 points, the second most single-game points in program history.

Jessup will end the road trip at Arizona Christian before returning home on January 19 against Hope International. Tickets for all remaining home games are on sale HERE.
