SAN DIMAS, Calif. – The 2023 regular season came to a close on Saturday as Jessup visited Life Pacific in San Dimas. Hoping to move up in the standings, Jessup fell to LPU 3-1 as they now look towards a repeat run at the conference tournament.
Jessup saw the offense come from
Madalyn Miller in this one, as the junior totaled 16 kills in the loss.
Taylor MacCuish wraps up her final regular season match with 12 kills, while
Delaina Hunt (8) and
Carolena Bogdanovich (7) also offered support at the net.
LPU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in Saturday's match, but a sweep was avoided after a block from Hunt secured a 25-18 victory in the third. Set four would be a back-and-forth battle, but LPU would end up being the victors as they won 25-23 to win the match.
Hannah Caddow of Life Pacific led all players with 18 kills.
With the loss, Jessup moves to 11-9 on the season. The Warriors close out the regular season with a .500 record of 7-7 in conference action
The Warriors close out the regular season as the fifth seed in the conference tournament. That means Jessup will square off with The Master's in the opening round of the conference tournament, which takes place at the same site as Saturday's matchup in San Dimas.
With a victory over TMU, the Warriors would advance to take on either Vanguard or Menlo in the semifinals. Game times are still TBD.
