SAN DIMAS, Calif. – After a magical run in the conference tournament a season ago, resulting in the first conference championship in program history, the Warriors began their run at a repeat on Thursday against The Master's. The opportunity for magic in 2023 comes to an end too soon as TMU sweeps the match, ending Jessup's season.
The 2022 season saw Jessup earn a first-round bye and the two seed in the conference tournament, leading to a championship match victory over Westmont. One year later, Jessup started their postseason run in the quarterfinals after earning the fifth seed.
TMU made quick work in Thursday's win, claiming the first set 25-14, which was promptly followed by a 25-20 win in the second. The third set was also a quick victory for the Mustangs as they took the win 25-14.
All-GSAC selection
Madalyn Miller led the Warriors with ten kills, doing so with a .286 hitting percentage.
Jordyn MacCuish and
Delaina Hunt both added five.
The Warriors see the 2023 season come to an end with an overall record of 11-10. Jessup says goodbye to three seniors:
Lauren Toon,
Devyn Bette, and
Taylor MacCuish.
Thursday also ends Jessup's era in the NAIA as the 2024 season will see the Warriors move into the PacWest Conference and NCAA Division II.
