FOLSOM, Calif. – GSAC Tennis got underway on Friday as the men's and women's tennis teams of Jessup welcomed Hope International University. With home matches taking place in Folsom this season, Jessup ends day one of the GSAC season on the losing end of two 5-2 finals.
Doubles play in both matches saw Hope International sweep the board to take the one point.
Singles action on the women's side saw victories from
Aysha Hayes and
Stephanie Alsman. Hayes won in straight sets, taking down her opponent 7-6, 6-4. Alsman won in a tiebreaker, taking the bout 1-6, 6-4, 10-4.
Over to the men's court, winning in singles play was
Kadyn Silva and
Mihnea Secara. Both won in a tiebreaker, with Silva taking his match 7-6, 1-6, 6-4. Secara was victorious 6-7, 6-3, 7-5.
The Warriors will be in action again tomorrow when they host Westcliff.
