STUNT Matthew Horrocks

STUNT Leaves Dallas with Two More Wins, Ending a Perfect Road Trip

Jessup has now won three of their five games against DI opponents; The Warriors return home on March 3

DALLAS, Tex. – Jessup's Texas road trip ended on Saturday, as the Warriors took the mat two more times at Dallas Baptist University. With another big-name DI opponent on the schedule, the Warriors hung on in the end as they left Texas with four victories.

On the schedule Saturday was Texas Woman's University and Texas Tech. It was the second-all-time meeting between Jessup and TWU, but the meeting with the Red Raiders was a program first.

The opening contest with TWU saw the Warriors improve to 4-0 with a 22-7 victory.

Jessup started out hot and never fizzled out in the first half, scoring all eight points through the first two quarters as they took a commanding 8- lead into the half. TWU would not find the scoreboard until a tie on routine four to start the third, jumps and tumbling.

TWU would put four points on the board in the third, but three would come via ties as Jessup led 11-4 entering the fourth.

Jessup scored 11 of the available points in the team routine fourth quarter, compared to a four-point showing from their counterparts.

Next up was the Red Raiders of Texas Tech, as Jessup saw their closest battle of the weekend in a 16-14 victory to end the trip.

Jessup again started the first quarter on a roll, taking three points in partner stunts to lead 3-2. The two sides would split into the second, pyramids and tosses, sending the contest to halftime with Jessup narrowly leading 5-4.

The third quarter was once again a close battle, with Jessup scoring three to Tech's two, giving the Warriors a two-point cushion heading into team routines.

Quarter four went down to the wire, as the final routine saw Jessup start with a 14-12 lead. With routine seven being called, Texas Tech won the first point to cut within one. The second point was split, keeping Jessup in the lead. The deciding point went the way of the Warriors, sending the Jessup bench into a frenzy as they celebrated another milestone victory.

Now 5-0, the Warriors have won three of their five games against NCAA Division I opponents.

The Warriors return to Warrior Arena on March 3 when they host Hope International University. Tickets are on sale HERE.
