Warriors Take Fourth Straight Against Vanguard

Jessup moves win-streak against Vanguard to four, dating back to last season’s national title game; The Warriors will meet up with Arizona Christian and Hope International

FULLERTON, Calif. – For the first time, teams from across the GSAC came together on Friday to hold the GSAC STUNT Championship. On the schedule first for the Warriors was Vanguard, a team Jessup has seen twice already this season.

Winning 17-10, Jessup earns their fourth straight victory over the Lions, dating back to the national championship game from a season ago. The seven points also serve as the largest margin of victory for the Warriors against their rivals from Costa Mesa.

The two sides split the opening quarter, partner stunts, with Jessup securing a point off routine six. Both teams split on routine four, while no points were awarded for routine eight. Pyramids and tosses, the second quarter, ended in a clean sweep by the Warriors as they entered halftime leading 6-2.

Vanguard began to claw back into the match with two points fresh out of halftime, but the Warriors responded to score off routine four in jumps and tumbling. A tie on routine five sent the contest into the fourth with the Warriors ahead 8-5.

Quarter four sees both sides compete four times, with a possible 12 points up for grabs.

Jessup took three points in the first two routines of the fourth quarter, pushing their lead up to seven. The lead would hold there as the scoreboard would split in half for the final two routines, ending in a Jessup victory.

The Warriors are now victors of four straight as they sit at 12-1 overall this season.

Action continues from Fullerton tomorrow as Jessup takes on Arizona Christian and Hope International. The Warriors' first contest of the day is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
