ROCKLIN, Calif. – The reigning national champions were back in action Saturday morning, taking on Hope International inside Warrior Arena. After two wins on Friday, the Warriors kept the winning streak alive, taking down the Royals 17-6 to improve their record to 8-0.
Dating back to NAIA STUNT Nationals a year ago, the Warriors have now won ten in a row and 13 of their last 14.
Jessup got out to a quick lead on Saturday, scoring the first three points before the Royals finally took a point off of routine two in quarter one. The second quarter followed the same pattern as Jessup again scored three straight before HIU got back on the board, scoring off routine three.
At halftime, the Warriors led 6-2.
Quarter three saw Jessup score two quick points, pushing their lea to six. The Royals again added a point in the third, but through three, it was a 9-3 lead for Jessup.
Hope International added three points in the fourth quarter, two coming off routine one. Jessup scored all three points on routines two and seven. Routine eight, the same routine that clinched a national championship a year ago, was called to end the day, this time seeing the Warriors secure one point.
Jessup improves to 4-0 all-time against the Royals with the victory.
The Warriors will be on the road next, embarking on a trip to Southern California in two weeks. Jessup will compete twice at Hope International in Fullerton, squaring off with Concordia-Irvine and Riverside Community College.
Jessup will be back home inside Warrior Arena on March 25 when they welcome Saint Mary's. Tickets are on sale
