STUNT Sweeps the Weekend to Win Inaugural GSAC Championship

Warriors began the day with an 18-0 shutout of Arizona Christian; Jessup will host UC Davis on Friday for the second-annual Senior Night

FULLERTON, Calif. – After a seven-point victory over Vanguard on Friday, Jessup returned to Darling Pavilion with two more games in the inaugural GSAC STUNT Championship. Beginning the day with a shutout, the Warriors ended with a win as they walked away from Fullerton with three victories in hand.

The three victories secure Jessup a spot in history as the Warriors are now the first-ever GSAC Champions of STUNT.

Jessup's first contest of the day came against the Firestorm of Arizona Christian. In a first-time meeting between the two sides, Jessup controlled the scoreboard from start to finish as they earned their second shutout in their last three games, taking down ACU 18-0.

The 2023 season is the first for Arizona Christian competing in STUNT.

Next on the Saturday schedule was a meeting with the Royals of Hope International in HIU's home gym of Darling Pavilion. This was the fifth all-time meeting between the Warriors and Royals, the second occurring this season.

Jessup won the game 20-10, improving their lifetime record against the Royals to a perfect 5-0. The Warriors also improve their season win streak to six, improving to 14-1 overall on the season.

The 14 wins this season set a new program record, as Jessup won 13 games in their national championship campaign from last season. Jessup will look to add more wins to their record season as they wrap up the regular season and transition into the NAIA STUNT National Championship later this month in Oklahoma City.

Up next is the final home game of the season for Jessup, as the Warriors welcome back UC Davis to Warrior Arena. This will be Senior Night for Jessup STUNT, with a ceremony taking place to honor the graduating seniors on the squad.

Senior Night is scheduled for April 7. Tickets are on sale HERE.
