SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Jessup got back on the pitch on Wednesday after four days off, visiting the Banana Slugs of UC Santa Cruz. Looking to extend their win streak to three, Jessup ended on the wrong side of a 6-0 final.
The Warriors came into Wednesday's match after going 2-0 last week, winning both matches by an aggregate of 9-0.
With the loss, the Warriors drop to 3-5-1 on the season. Wednesday was also Jessup's final match away from Rocklin before the start of the conference season next weekend.
Jessup totaled five shots in the loss, compared to 24 from their counterparts. Two of the Warriors' shots registered on goal, one coming from Kaylee Gillespie and the other off the foot of Olivia Richbaw. Gillespie came into Wednesday as the reigning GSAC Player of the Week.
Next on the schedule for Jessup is a matchup with Bethesda, scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The Warriors will then shift their focus to the GSAC, as Arizona Christian comes to town on Thursday, September 28.
