ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Warriors hosted OUAZ in a Saturday morning matchup at Warrior Field. The persistent battle resulted in Jessup's second loss in conference play.
Jessup now moves to 4-7-1 and stands sixth in the GSAC standings.
The Spirit sit in first place as they are 2-0 in GSAC play and 9-1 overall. Melinda Lertzman started the scoring for OUAZ in the fourth minute of play. A few minutes later, Krystal Sanchez put the Spirit ahead over the Warriors, racking another goal to make it 2-0.
This is where the score would stay for the remainder of the first half and lead into the second until a goal by Gianna Green would bring us 3-0.
The Warriors, however, found some fire as
Alaina Smathers put Jessup on the board as she found the back of the net in the 81st minute of play.
Lilliana Fenn also made some noise with crucial saves late in the game. This brought her to a total of six saves on the day.
The Warriors will travel to Santa Clarita to face off against The Master's University in their next game on October 5th at 1:30 PM.
