RENO, Nev. - Track & Field got the 2024 season underway this weekend at the Reno Pole Vault Summit. An annual tradition to start the season in Reno, the weekend included a clinic on Friday, followed by the collegiate competition on Saturday.
Â
Four Warriors were scheduled to make the trip east on I-80 and begin their campaign, as
Alexander Travis,
Everett Beader,
Brock Jedlicka, and
Paloma Baumert were on the entry list. For Baeder, Jedlicka, and Baumert, Saturday will mark their debut performance as Jessup student-athletes.
Â
Baeder had the best finish of the Jessup men as he hit a top mark of 4.00m. That placed him in fourth for the college men's division.
Â
Jedlicka placed 14th in his Jessup debut as he hit a top height of 2.70m.
Â
In the college women's division, Baumert placed sixth out of 18 as she hit a top height of 3.30m. The opening height in the women's division was 1.55m, while the men opened up their competition at 2.50m.
Â
Pole vault started the 2024 season, and now the rest of the roster gets their chance to shine on January 27 when the Warriors visit Claremont for the OIDFE Challenge meet. There are four indoor meets on the schedule for the Jessup women in 2024, as the Sunshine Open in Santa Barbara follows on February 10.
Â
The 2024 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championship begins on February 29.
