Jessup Leaves Atherton with Back-to-Back Losses

Corey returns to action with his fifth 20+ point game of the season; Jessup to host LPU on Suits and Sneakers night next week

ATHERTON, Calif. – The finale of a three-game road trip arrived on Saturday as the Warriors visited Atherton and Menlo College. Looking to bounce back from an overtime loss a week ago, Jessup could not find their footing as they leave the Bay Area with a 79-56 loss.

Having now suffered defeat in back-to-back outings, the Warriors fall to 12-6 overall and 3-2 in conference action. Menlo improves their GSAC record to 2-3.

Guard Myles Corey returned to the lineup on Saturday after missing last week's loss in Fullerton with an injury. Corey, who became Jessup's all-time leading scorer last week, led the way with 22 points, his fifth 20+ point outing of the season.

Corey is now averaging 16.4 PPG through 17 appearances.

Menlo took the lead with 11:06 to go in the first half off a Riley Robinson 3-pointer and never looked back as they kept the advantage for the final 31:06. The lead would touch as high as 29 in the second half, as it was all Menlo on a rainy Saturday in the Bay Area.

Jessup struggled to connect from the field in this one, especially from distance, as the Warriors combined for a 4-for-30 showing from beyond the arc. On the opposite end, Menlo was in full heat-check mode as they knocked down ten triples while shooting 49 percent from the field.

Landon Seaman, who came into Saturday leading the GSAC in scoring average, led the way as he totaled 26 points for the Oaks to pair with 14 boards. Menlo had three players score in double-figures.

Jessup saw Ja'Maris Blackmon drop 13 points on 4-of-11 from the floor as he joined Corey as the only two Warriors in double-figures.

The Warriors will now head home to Rocklin as this three-game road trip has come to a close. Ahead of Jessup is a visit from Life Pacific, who will be in Rocklin on Thursday, January 25. That matchup with LPU will be the honor Suits and Sneakers: Coaches vs. Cancer game, as the Warriors will raise funds and awareness for cancer research.

The homestand continues with a visit from The Master's on January 27. Tickets for all remaining home dates are on sale HERE.
