ROCKLIN, Calif. - Saturday afternoon was a battle of the Warriors as Jessup hosted the visiting Warriors of Westmont University and your very own Jessup Warriors. Two late-scoring goals resulted in a loss for Jessup.

Jessup was welcomed back by a home crowd on home turf after their stretch in the Aloha State, and the day ended with a favor of visiting Westmont University, with a final score of 3-2.

This loss moves the Warriors to 3-8-2 overall and 1-4-1 in conference. 

Westmont began scoring in the first half in the 28th minute of play. With a strong back-and-forth offense, the score remained 1-0 in favor of Westmont going into halftime. 

Kye Johnson responded for Jessup with two goals in the second half, both assisted by Kaylee Gillespie. Gillespie connected with Johnson to find the back of the goal and tie the game with a strong response. 

A short three minutes later, it would be Johnson again to give the Warriors their first lead of the game. 

Unfortunately, Jessup wouldn't be able to hold onto the lead for the win as Westmont scored two late half goals to take the lead and ultimately the game in a final score of 3-2. 

Jessup will be back on the road on October 23rd, when they take on Fresno Pacific University at Ramirez Field.
