COSTA MESA, Calif. – The final road trip of the 2024 season began on Friday as the Warriors made their first visit to Vanguard's Freed Center. A 3-1 loss ended the Warriors' win streak as they head into the final road match of the year tomorrow.
Jessup is now 13-10 on the year, posting a PacWest record of 9-7.
Senior
Madalyn Miller led the attack with her fourth match of the season eclipsing 20 kills. She finished the night with 21, doing so on a .300 hitting performance.
Taylor MacCuish was second in the kill column with ten.
Libero
Neena Dimas led Jessup defensively with 18 digs, as she was one of three Warriors to finish in double-digits in that category.
Alexis Kepa (14) and Taylor Diller (11) finished behind her.
Jessup's lone set victory came in the third, a 25-21 finish that came after back-to-back victories by the Lions. Vanguard opened the night with a 25-18 decision in the first set and followed that up with a 25-23 decision in the second. The Lions responded to their loss in the third with a 25-21 victory in the fourth to take the match.
Vanguard improves their record to .500 overall and 8-10 in conference action with the win.
Jessup will be back on the court tomorrow afternoon as the road season ends with a visit to Point Loma. The Sealions are ranked No. 13 nationally and have yet to lose a match. PLNU swept the Warriors in their earlier trip to Warrior Arena.
The Warriors will be back home next week for the final three matches of the season. Jessup is scheduled to host Dominican (Tuesday), Westmont (Friday), and Biola (Saturday).
