Blackmon Records a 22-Point Night in Midweek Road Loss

Blackmon and Studer posted double-digit points on the night; Jessup returns home for Hoops For Heroes on Friday night

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Warriors continued their pre-season play as they traveled a short distance down I-5 to Stockton to play the University of the Pacific. Jessup is coming off a season opener victory last week against Pacific Union College.

The Monday night matchup marked the season opener for the hosting Tigers of UOP at the Spanos Center. Jessup's second game of the season ended in a loss with a final score of 92-65. The Monday night contest is counted as an exhibition game and doesn't count towards the Warriors' overall record.

Despite the midweek loss in the 209, two Warriors posted double-figures on the night. Ja'Maris Blackmon (22) and Wyatt Studer (13) led the leaderboard for Jessup. Blackmon had a turnaround game from the opening night for Jessup as he had 3 total points on the night, scoring 19 more points than game one.

This is Studer's second double-digit point game in a row, coming off of his red-shirt year in 2023. Studer also threw up 13 points in the home match against PUC.

The two led Jessup from the three-point line, and Blackmon was 4-for-7 in three points made in his 25 minutes played, while Studer was 3-for-4, playing a total of 28 minutes on the night. The Warriors were 14-for-21, marking 66 percent from the free-throw line.

Jessup will return to home court for a Friday night matchup against Multnomah at 7:00 PM. This is a special night for Jessup University as Veterans and Military personnel will be honored in the annual Hoops For Heroes Night.
