ROCKLIN, Calif. – Selections for the 2024 CSC Women's Volleyball Academic All-District team were revealed on Tuesday morning. In recognition of their success both on the court and in the classroom, four Warriors have earned the distinction of Academic All-District.
The four Warriors selected were setter
Kenzie Carpenter, libero
Neena Dimas, outside hitter
Madalyn Miller, and outside hitter
Eliana Sheridan.
CSC (College Sports Communicators) is an organization made up of athletic communicators at institutions across the United States and Canada. Nominations for Academic All-District are made by each school's CSC member, and nominees are then voted regionally by district. Select All-District winners then advance to the national ballot for Academic All-American distinction.
Nominees for Academic All-District must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, be a sophomore or above academically, and meet specific performance minimums per sport, such as matches played and in-match statistics.
Carpenter, a senior majoring in Aviation, finished her final season with a career-high 764 assists (6.37 assists/set). The setter appeared in 120 sets and added 224 digs, 36 service aces, and 25 kills. She totaled a career-high 53 assists twice this season and surpassed 30 assists 13 times.
Dimas, a graduate student in her first season at Jessup, led the Warriors with 496 digs (4.31 digs/set). She saved her best performance for last, totaling 35 digs in the NCCAA National Championship match against Grace. Dimas finished with over 20 digs in nine matches and added 47 assists and 20 service aces.
Miller was the Warriors' lone selection to the All-PacWest team, following a Jessup record 422 kills (most in the PacWest). Miller eclipsed 1,000 career kills this season and finished with over 20 kills in six matches, including two with a career-best 24 kills. The Biology major appeared in 121 sets this season, the most on the team.
Sheridan, a Liberal Studies student, wrapped up her second season in Rocklin with a career-high 284 kills and 329 digs. Sheridan racked up nine double-doubles, in which she finished a match with double-digit kills and digs. She had a season-high 20 kills in a win at Dominican and a season-best 19 digs that same night.
Each CSC member was permitted to nominate a maximum of four student-athletes to the All-District team. The voting committee has selected Dimas and Miller has been designated as selections to advance to the ballot for Academic All-American. Academic All-American winners will be announced in the coming weeks.
