ROCKLIN, Calif. – The preseason schedule for the Warriors came to a close on Monday as Jessup took on the Keelhaulers of Cal Maritime. Following an 80-69 loss, Jessup heads into PacWest action, sitting at .500 with a 3-3 record.
Jessup was playing in their first home contest since November 16. The Warriors left California for two games in Idaho the weekend before Thanksgiving and then took a week off before returning on Monday night.
Wyatt Studer led the Warriors in scoring with 15 points on a 5-of-13 showing from the field.
Aydan Janssan was the other Jessup player to finish in double-figures, dropping 13 on a 50 percent shooting performance.
The Keelhaulers saw four players finish in double-figures, three of which did so in reserve.
Shooting woes hurt the Warriors throughout Monday night's contest. The Warriors connected on 39 percent from the field, but it was their attempts from beyond the arc that hurt the offense. Jessup connected on just 6-of-34 (.176) from three, and at the charity stripe, they finished 11-for-23 (.478).
Maritime finished the game connecting on 27-of-57 (.474) on their field goal attempts.
Jessup led early in the contest, with their largest lead being a three-point advantage five minutes in. But then the Keelhaulers took over, finishing the contest with the lead in nearly 34 minutes of game time. Their largest advantage came at 17 points with six minutes remaining.
The Warriors will be back in action on Saturday when they open their first PacWest season against Westmont. Tip-off for the conference opener is slated for 2 p.m. Tickets are on sale
