Offense Soars in Record Shattering 26-9 Victory

The Warriors broke five different records in a conference matchup against OUAZ; Jessup takes on Arizona Christian tomorrow to finish their six-game road trip.

SURPRISE, Ariz. - The Warriors ended the day on an extremely high note with a record-shattering day on the diamond. In the Friday evening victory in Arizona, the Warriors broke five single-game team records in an exemplary defeat over OUAZ, 26-9.

On a hot day in the desert state, Jessup split with OUAZ in the final conference series of the season. The day didn't start in favor of the Warriors as Jessup lost the first game in a close game of 5-4.

Clutch hits from Neva Adams, a two-run RBI triple, and Olivia Dominguez, an RBI single, began the scoring for the Warriors. Madisyn Leffle showed off the speed with impressive base running, touching all the bases, scoring on a single, and fielding an error to bring the Warrior within one in the top of the seventh inning, but they could not capitalize further. Jessup would lose 5-4.

Game two was a monstrous turnaround for Jessup, as they defeated OUAZ 26-9. The Warriors set five different records in the record-breaking game.

Records for a single game broke included most runs (26), most RBIs (25), most hits (24), most home runs (6), and most at-bats (47). Home runs came from Maddy Ybarra, Sarah Giles, Kaylee Winn, Sam Lorge, and Emma Gaytan with a two-home run game. Jessup reaped victorious as they defeated the Spirit, 26-9.

Jessup looks to continue the big bats tomorrow in their last weekend game against Arizona Christian. Game times are set to begin at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
