FULLERTON, Calif. – The final day of the 2024 GSAC Championship began on Saturday, as the Warriors took on two of the top three programs in NAIA STUNT. Beginning with a national championship rematch, both games were decided by narrow margins as the Warriors split the day.
With the conference championship behind them, the Warriors are now 15-3 on the season.
Jessup, who entered the weekend ranked second in the nation, has already secured a spot in the NAIA STUNT Nationals for the third year in a row. The two opponents on the schedule on Saturday will also be joining the Warriors at the national championship.
The day began with a matchup with No. 3 Vanguard, the same team Jessup beat in back-to-back national championship games. It was a narrow battle, as the Warriors squeaked away with a 14-12 victory.
Jessup is now 8-5 lifetime against the Lions, with all eight victories coming in a row.
Next came a matchup with the Royals of Hope International. Jessup came into the contest 6-0 against the Royals, but they now trail the Royals in the national rankings as HIU jumped Jessup this week to take the No. 1 spot.
It was another close battle, but this time, the final went in the opposite favor of the Warriors as HIU claimed the victory with a 13-12 win.
Now the Warriors are on to NAIA STUNT Nationals, as they will look to win their third national championship in a row. Nationals will begin on April 18 from Darling Pavilion in Fullerton.
