IRVINE, Calif. - The time at OC Great Park was cut short for the Warriors as they lost two games on Tuesday afternoon. Postseason will continue for the Warriors as it is back to the drawing board for the upcoming NAIA Opening Rounds on May 13th.
After a win against OUAZ in game one of the tournament, the Warriors lost two in a row to exit the GSAC Tournament. Game one on Tuesday was posted with the #2 seed, Vanguard University. In a neck-and-neck game, timely hitting for the Lions in the top of the seventh wrote the ending in a loss for Jessup, 4-1.
Adding to the anticipation, the Warriors faced off against the #3 seed, the Royals of Hope International. It was a clash of titans, as Jessup had previously swept the Royals in the regular season, winning all four conference games.
The Warriors jumped ahead early putting up a three spot in the early innings of the game. An evident fourth inning for Hope would complete a comeback victory as they defeated Jessup 10-4 and knocked the Warriors out of the tournament.
The postseason is still not over for the #7 ranked Warriors as they look to go the distance in the NAIA Opening Rounds.
