ROCKLIN, Calif. - The first win of the 2024 season comes in a Friday afternoon contest on Warrior Field. The victorious day ended in a final score of 11-0 in favor of the Warriors.
In a pre-season matchup, Jessup took on CSU Maritime, where they sought out their first victory of the season. The strong offense was the star of the show in today's contest as the Warriors outshot the Keehaulers 42-0 and 15-0 shots on goal.
Senior
Kaylee Gillespie scored the first goal for Jessup in the fifth minute of the contest. Abela Waterman would extend the score for Jessup with a late half goal to make the score 2-0 before heading into halftime.
Hannah Olariu and
Mackenzie Wright would find the back of the net to kick off the second half of the game to extend the lead to 4-0. Gillespie and Wright would both strike again to push the lead to 6-0, both scoring their second goal of the game.
That wasn't the end of the offensive stretch as Gilespie would find the back of the net again to complete a hat trick performance of three goals on the day.
Kylie Gutierrez would top off the offensive domination for the Warriors with two goals, one a penalty kick, in the remaining minutes of the match.
This is the Warriors' first win on home field and the first of the season, with a final score of 11-0.
Jessup will travel to Arcata, California, to take on Cal Poly Humboldt in a Wednesday matchup at 3:00 p.m.
