ROCKLIN, Calif. - The Warriors played Chico State University in a weekend home contest. The Saturday afternoon matchup resulted in a 1-0 loss for the Warriors, as Jessup is still searching for their first Division II victory.
Jessup is now 1-4 on the season, with the lone victory coming last week against California Maritime Academy.
The Warriors and Wildcats cleated up on a sunny Saturday afternoon, and the game remained scoreless for most of the first half. Chico would score in the thirty-sixth minute of the game to put the Wildcats on top, 1-0.
A strong offensive day from Chico resulted in outshooting the Warriors nine to three. Jessup had no shots on goal, while Chico tallied six.
Celeste Fernandez started in goal for Jessup. She recorded six saves and one goal allowed on the day. Fernandez has am 0.800 save percentage this year.
Jessup will hit the road for the second time this season for a weekday matchup in San Francisco. They will face PacWest foes Academy of the Arts in a non-conference matchup.
