LA MIRADA, Calif. - The Warriors hit the road for a weekend away series with Biola University at Chase Gymnasium. The Eagles defeated the Warriors in four sets, 3-1.
Jessup is now 6-9 overall and 1-3 in PacWest play.
Biola was able to set the tone as they took the first two sets from the Warriors, 25-14 in the opening two sets. The Eagles forced seven aces and got ahead early in both sets.
Set three was a thriller for the Warriors, who were not going out quietly. In the exciting 30-28 final, Jessup took a big early lead, going up on BU 9-5. Biola would be able to tie the game in the stretch, but a big kill from
Addisen Hamilton and massive blocks from Hamilton and
Julia Olson would seal the deal for a victorious third set.
The Eagles, however, would claim victory in the fourth and final set, winning 25-16.
Hamilton (13) and Elianna Sheridan (10) lead the kill leaderboard for the Warriors.
Lauren Toon (13) and
Jayden Santos (12) both posted double digits for digs on the defensive end.
The Warriors will continue their SoCal road trip tomorrow to take on Concordia University at 2:00 PM at CU Arena. Jessup will return home on October 22nd for Country Night, where the first 100 fans will receive a free cowboy hat keychain, presented by Hops and Hogs, proud sponsor of Jessup Athletics.
