Rocklin, CA - The Jessup Warriors secured a victory against the Azusa Pacific Cougars (APU) in a Pacific West volleyball match, winning 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19) on Friday afternoon. Offensive outbursts brought Jessup to another home victory.
The win improves Jessup's overall record to 8-10 and PacWest conference record to 3-4.
The Warriors took the first two sets in a closely contested battle, 25-23 and 25-21, before the Cougars fought back to claim the third set, 25-19. Jessup then decisively closed out the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.
Jessup significantly outpaced Azusa Pacific in several key categories, including kills, hitting percentage, assists, digs, and blocks. The Warriors recorded 68 kills compared to APU's 54.
The match of the two squads featured 23 total tie scores. The Warriors' offensive attack, however, was highly effective, with four players registering double-digit kills.
Addie Hamilton led all players with 18 kills and a strong .361 hitting percentage, contributing 19.5 points.
Kemyah Harris continued her strong offensive performance this season as she added 16 kills on the day.
Eliana Sheridan chipped in 12 kills and was instrumental on defense with 13 digs.
Julia Olson had 11 kills and 11 blocks.
Jessup has a quick turnaround as they return to home court tomorrow for a 1:00 PM matchup with Biola University. Tomorrow will also be a day to dress in pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a game sponsored by our friends and proud sponsors, Crumbl Cookie.
