Rocklin, Calif. — Jessup University forward Mackenzie Wright has been named the PacWest Women's Soccer Player of the Week after tallying two scores against Fresno Pacific University on Friday, October 24.
Wright's offensive explosion fueled a thrilling comeback attempt for the Warriors on their home turf at Warrior Field, as they ultimately fell to the Sunbirds in a tight 4-3 contest.
Despite Jessup facing a daunting three-goal deficit early in the match, Wright provided the spark to ignite the Warrior attack. She netted her first goal just before the half, scoring at the 43:28 mark to pull the score to 3-1 and give the team a critical momentum boost heading into the break.
Wright wasted no time in the second half, striking quickly at 51:11 to complete a two-goal run and narrow the gap to a single goal.
The performance marked Mackenzie Wright's first PacWest conference mulit-goal game of her 2025 campaign and raised her season goal total significantly. The sophomore now stands alone as the Warrior's leader scorer on the year with seven goals. Her effort was a testament to the Warrior spirit, earning her this well-deserved weekly honor from the PacWest Conference.
Women's soccer will take the pitch for their final home game this Saturday against Chaminade as they recognize their seniors.
