ARCATA, Calif. – The Jessup Warriors (2-4, 0-0 PacWest) concluded their pre-conference road trip on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Cal Poly Humboldt Lumberjacks (1-3, 0-0 CCAA) Lumberjack Arena, 88-67.
Sophomore Claudia Jiménez provided a dynamic spark for the Warriors, delivering a stellar offensive performance. Jiménez led all Jessup scorers with 19 points on an efficient 6-of-12 shooting, including a blistering 5-of-7 from three-point range. She rounded out her stat line with 8 rebounds and 5 steals, showcasing her impact on both ends of the floor.
The Warriors showed flashes of their potential, particularly from long range, where they connected on 47.4% of their attempts (9-of-19). The team's bench also showed fight, contributing 25 points in the effort. Guard Giselle Dogan joined Jiménez in double figures, finishing with 11 points along with 3 assists.
Jessup battled closely in the first half, but a dominant third quarter by the Lumberjacks proved to be the difference. Cal Poly Humboldt shot 63% from the field in the third period, putting up 30 points to pull away for a commanding lead.
Jessup now turns its attention to conference action with their next matchup on December 4th at home. Tip-off against the Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lions will be at 5:30pm.
