AZUSA, Calif. – The Jessup University men's soccer team concluded its 2025 season on Saturday night, falling to Azusa Pacific University at the Cougar Soccer Complex in the final contest of the year, 6-1.
The loss brings the Warriors' final overall record to 2-11-4 (0-9-1 PacWest). Despite the final scoreline, the Warriors showed resilience, with the game tied one apiece into halftime. Azusa Pacific applied pressure immediately, finding the net just over a minute into the second half of play.
With both goals from Luis Solis for Azusa Pacific, Osmin Carranza of the Cougars also tallied two scores in the second half. Luis Solis completed his hat trick at the 83rd minute mark. Kayro Valdez for the Cougars capped the scoring for the home team as the Warriors fell to Azusa Pacific, 6-1.
Offensively, the Warriors finished the game with 12 total shots, with nine of those placed accurately on target. Justin Parrish scored the Warriors lone goal on the day with the team's early lead in the first minute of play. The goal was assisted by Aidan Vangelatos.
Head Coach Greg Lazaga commented on the team's final appearance for the year, "We played well in the first half. Early goal and were able to put pressure on their goal." He continued, "We were not able to maintain the level. Unfortunately we were not able to turn the momentum back around."
The loss concludes the 2025 campaign for the Warriors. Men's soccer will now enter the offseason and prepare for the 2026 season.
