FRESNO, Calif. – A week of tennis in Fresno has come to an end as the Warriors played a pair of PacWest matches on Thursday. Beginning with a win in the women's match and ending with a loss by the men, Jessup now returns to Rocklin to continue their debut Division II season.
Women's tennis began the day with a contest with Chaminade, ending in a 7-0 victory for the Warriors. It's the second win of the season for the Warriors.
Jessup opened with a sweep in doubles action.
Nia Macay and
Briana Smith took their bout 6-1. A 6-2 finish followed by
Olivia Gutierrez and
Antonella Cardenas.
Angel Cody and
Rylie Maloney ended doubles play with a 6-3 win.
The Warriors carried the momentum into a sweep in singles action.
Jessup's men's team then hit the court for a match with MSU Denver. The contest resulted in a 4-0 loss for the Warriors. MSUN claimed the doubles point, taking two matches.
Clark Chen and
Diego Rodriguez seeing their match go unfinished. The matches of
Tanner Sitanggang,
Caleb Poling and
Marc Charlanne went unfinished in singles action.
The Warriors will return to action on Sunday, with Hawaii Hilo coming to town.
