IRVINE, Calif. – Night two of back-to-back matches in Irvine saw the Warriors look to avenge their four-set loss to Concordia from Thursday night. The hosting Golden Eagles had other plans as they swept the Warriors to end Jessup's five-match road trip.
Â
The Warriors, led by head coach
Kyle Steele, are 6-5 in their inaugural campaign.
Â
Carter Depue led the Jessup offense for the second night in a row, this time with 13 kills on a .214 hitting performance.
Jan Lopuch added seven kills, followed by
Owen Henning with five.
Â
Taylor Marks finished with 26 assists and six digs.
Â
The opening set was much like Thursday's match, as 25 points were not enough. Jessup trailed 21-14 but then battled back to eventually level the score at 24. The run would be undone by back-to-back CUI points to end the set with a 26-24 decision.
Â
Concordia made the next two sets a little easier on themselves, winning the second 25-19 before taking the third 25-18.
Â
The Warriors will be back home inside Warrior Arena on Tuesday night as they will welcome Simpson to Rocklin. Three home dates remain in the inaugural season of men's volleyball, with two of those matches coming against the Red Hawks.
