KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The field is set for the 2025 NCCAA Baseball World Series as ten teams will set up shop in Kansas City over the next week. The double elimination tournament will get underway on Saturday, setting up four days of baseball in the City of Fountains.
Jessup enters the postseason with an overall record of 31-19. The Warriors capped off their first season in the PacWest with a third-place finish at 28-16.
The Warriors were ineligible for NCAA and PacWest postseason competition due to the university's provisional membership status. Jessup joined the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) in the summer of 2024 to create opportunities for postseason play during the transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II.
Ten teams comprise the field for the 2025 NCCAA World Series. Games begin on Saturday from the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy, a turf facility with two collegiate-sized fields.
Oakland City enters the tournament as the top seed in the field. The Mighty Oaks have something in common with Jessup, as they saw their NAIA season come to an end in Waleska, GA, as part of the NAIA Opening Round. Jessup's bid for an NAIA National Championship in 2024 also ended in Waleska. Concordia Ann Arbor is the second seed. The top two seeds will play the two night games on Saturday against the winners of the first two games of the day.
Seeds three through six will play in one game on Saturday, with the first pitch coming at 2:30 p.m. (CT).
Jessup drew the fourth seed in the field and will take on Campbellsville, an NAIA program out of Kentucky. The Tigers went 34-19 in the regular season and did not receive a bid to the NAIA Opening Round. Fort Lauderdale will meet Southwest Christian in the three-six matchup.
Mission, Judson, Kansas Christian, and Arlington Baptist round out the field.
All teams will take Sunday off, and then the action resumes on Monday with the first elimination games of the week. The field will be cut to six teams after Monday, and then two teams will remain at the end of Tuesday. The championship game is scheduled for noon (CT) on Wednesday. An if necessary game will follow should the team with one loss win the first game.
With a win on Saturday, Jessup will advance to the winner's bracket, where they play at 2:30 p.m. (CT). A loss on Saturday places Jessup in an elimination game at 6 p.m. (CT) against an opponent who has already played once on Monday.
