ROCKLIN, Calif. - The 2026 season was a historic one for Jessup University baseball, as the Warriors successfully navigated their second year in the competitive PacWest Conference. Their appearance was marked by a stellar regular-season finish and the achievement of five players earning All-PacWest honors, a testament to the program's growing strength in NCAA Division II.
The Warriors' lineup was anchored by several standout performers who etched their names into the conference's elite list. Head Coach
Trevor Paine noted that these awards were the result of both veteran grit and emerging young talent.
Tony Otis (First Team, Outfield) A powerhouse in the middle of the order, the senior from Las Vegas led the Warriors with a staggering 18 home runs and 58 RBIs.
"Tony's selection to the First Team All-PacWest is a direct reflection of his work ethic," said Paine. "After a relentless offseason spent living in the batting cages, it is gratifying to see his dedication rewarded with this well-deserved honor."
Quinton Hall (Second Team, Outfield) Hall led the team in batting average at .372 and hits with 67, combining 14 home runs with 14 stolen bases.
"I am immensely proud of the resilience Quinton showed this year," Paine remarked. "To overcome the adversity of a season-ending injury and return to this level of play is a testament to his character. That grit is what makes this recognition so meaningful."
Jayden Montero (Third Team, Second Base) The freshman from Hawaii stabilized the middle infield with a team-high 123 assists while batting .349.
"Jayden has solidified his reputation as one of the elite middle infielders in the PacWest," said Paine. "While his defensive prowess has always been a constant, his evolution into a high-caliber hitter has transformed him into a truly complete player. This is likely the first of many accolades in his career."
Cody Antone (Third Team, Outfield) Antone was a model of consistency, hitting .352 with 63 hits and 53 runs scored.
"Following up on an All-Conference campaign is a difficult feat, yet Cody managed to raise the bar even higher this season," Paine noted. "He has been a cornerstone of this program, and I couldn't be more proud of the legacy he leaves behind as a Warrior."
Kai Hirayama (Third Team, Starting Pitcher) The freshman southpaw emerged as the ace, posting a 5-3 record with a staff-leading 48 strikeouts.
"It is rare for a freshman to command the mound with such poise," said Paine. "Kai quickly emerged as a premier arm in the conference, providing us with a dominant performance every time he touched the rubber. His ceiling is incredibly high, and his future here is bright."
The Warriors finished the regular season with an overall record of 27-21 and a conference mark of 23-19. One of the definitive moments of the season was the April sweep of Westmont College, where the Warriors took all four games of the series, including a dramatic 1-0 shutout in the finale.
Defensively, the team relied on the sure hands of
Jayden Montero and
Adam Reyes (106 assists) to turn 36 double plays throughout the year. As the program looks forward, the mix of senior leadership and the rising talent of freshmen like Montero and Hirayama suggests that Jessup Baseball is poised to remain a contender in the PacWest for years to come.
